John Hervey

John Hervey has extensive background in the convenience and petroleum marketing industry. John was with a major oil company for twenty-five (25) years in a variety of marketing positions, including sales, credit, accounting and retail automation management positions.
In addition, John was the Chief Technology Officer at NACS, the National Association of Convenience Stores for three years. In that position he was responsible for the development and maintenance of technology standards for the industry in the areas of retail financial transactions, POS/Back Office interface, device integration, and electronic business-to-business document exchanges.
In 2003 John was asked by NACS to head up a new non-profit association to take over the NACS Technology Standards Project. From early 2004 until January 2009, John was the Executive Director of the Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS). In this position John developed extensive relationships with the major solution providers, CPG companies, and retailers in the industry.
John is a graduate of Tufts University with a BA in Political Science. He is also a retired Captain in the US Navy Reserve. John resides in Alexandria, VA.
