Jim Melvin
Principal and Senior
Consultant
Jim has over 35 years
of leadership experience in a number of headquarters and
field positions while working for major gasoline and convenience
retailers in the United States. He has significant experience
working with company operations, dealers and marketers.
He has a proven track record of creating and implementing
successful marketing strategies to grow sales and profits,
while controlling costs and managing change.
While in Headquarters
he worked on major gasoline and motor oil advertising and
promotional activity. He was also responsible for developing
strategies to maximize sales and profits for the company’s
US business.
In field positions he
was initially in sales and management positions. He was
also responsible for recruiting, training, and follow up
for new company operation personnel, dealer, and field representatives.
Later on, he led three separate Business Units, two on the
west coast and one on the East Coast, where he was responsible
for sales, profits, developing regional strategies and implementing
tactics to accomplish desired results.
In his most recent position
he was responsible for managing the eastern business during
the sale of the business and managing the change associated
with this sale.
Jim lives in the
Northern Virginia area. He is a graduate of Central Missouri
State University with a BS in Business with a major emphasis
in Marketing.
