Ray Thomann has over 32 years experience in downstream supply chain management for a major international petroleum corporation. His expertise relates to the physical distribution and storage and handling of fuels and lubricants as well as management of and collaboration with third party service providers.
Ray has extensive operations experience in all aspects of facility management including product integrity control, EHS management, inventory management, labor relations, physical plant project planning development and management, customer relations, community relations, governmental and regulatory agency relationships, budget planning, capacity planning, process design and performance measurement.
As a Vendor Manager for third party services, he was responsible for managing multiple contracts assuring quality of services and materials provided by suppliers to the lubricant business of this major corporation. In this capacity, he had primary responsibility for management-of-change throughout the supply chain in support of new product introductions. Through his use of process redesign initiatives and technology, many complex processes inherent in the business were streamlined or eliminated.
During a major corporate reorganization, Ray was selected to participate on a team that was responsible for the development and implementation of performance indicators that became the basis of all corporate downstream performance measurement.
Ray holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Logistics from Penn State University, internationally recognized as a leader in innovative supply chain education, and is a member of APICS (The Association for Operations Management).
